Incident affecting AdSense

Incident began at 2023-11-15 16:00 and ended at 2023-11-16 05:00 (times are in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)).

Date Time Description
Nov 16, 2023 5:07 AM UTC The problem with AdSense has been resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support.

For Google AdSense publishers who use "Privacy & messaging" GDPR messaging functionality: Between ~4PM UTC November 8, 2023 and ~4PM UTC November 15, 2023, some or all newly created TC consent strings may have incorrectly prevented corresponding end users from being eligible for any ad serving.

We have now invalidated all impacted TC consent strings, meaning the corresponding end users will be asked to re-consent during their next visit to sites for which you have published GDPR messaging. When running AdSense reports that span the impact period you may observe a decrease in overall traffic or country-specific traffic for countries under the scope of GDPR enforcement.

Nov 15, 2023 10:08 PM UTC We are continuing to investigate this issue. We will provide an update by Nov 16, 2023, 5:00 AM UTC detailing when we expect to resolve the problem. The affected users are able to access AdSense, but are seeing error messages, high latency, and/or other unexpected behavior.
