Incident affecting Google Ad Manager

Incident began at 2022-08-17 12:00 and ended at 2022-08-24 18:48 (times are in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)).

Date Time Description
Aug 24, 2022 7:56 PM UTC The problem with Google Ad Manager has been resolved. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support. The affected users are able to access Google Ad Manager, but are seeing error messages, high latency, and/or other unexpected behavior.

Google Ad Manager publishers no longer encounter “Unable to encode targeting & load the traffic explorer page” error messages when opening certain Line items within the Ad Manager UI.

As a reminder, this was a purely visual UI issue that did not impact line item delivery or serving.

Aug 23, 2022 3:02 PM UTC We're aware of a problem with Google Ad Manager affecting a majority of users. We will provide an update by Aug 24, 2022, 5:00 PM UTC detailing when we expect to resolve the problem. Please note that this resolution time is an estimate and may change. The affected users are able to access Google Ad Manager, but are seeing error messages, high latency, and/or other unexpected behavior.

Publishers may encounter “Unable to encode targeting & load the traffic explorer page” error message when opening a line item with huge inventory or custom targeting in Google Ad Manager. Please note that this is just a display issue and does not impact line item delivery or serving.

As a workaround, Publishers can reduce the line Item targeting set. For example, if the line item targets multiple inventory ad units, then move the ad units to one or more placements and then target the placements.
